although it is poison

A boy named Michael
long hair and acid
Turquoise blue
string bikini
better than Disneyland
Déjà vu is a smell
Hyacinth and sand
A wooden screen door
still smacks the frame
of that place
Long Beach
love going around
in a traffic circle
Confusion

- I live in Sequim, Washington. I write creative nonfiction and poetry. I am a former reporter who teaches workshops on poetry and memoir and have been known, on occasion, to edit things for others.
